Fertility Support & Reproductive Medicine

Your dedicated partner from first steps to first breath.

Wherever you are in your fertility journey — quietly curious, actively trying, or three cycles into IVF — you don't have to figure out the next step alone. At Pivot Acupuncture, we combine Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern functional lab testing to build the strongest possible foundation for conception, pregnancy, and the year that follows.

We meet you where you are

There's no single starting line. Some people come to us years before they plan to conceive. Others come to us the week before a transfer. Both are the right time to begin.

You're thinking ahead.

You're not trying yet, but you want your body ready when you are. This is the ideal window — it gives us room to work upstream on nutrient status, blood sugar, thyroid function, and cycle quality before there's any pressure on the calendar.

You've been trying.

Months have passed, and the not-knowing is its own kind of exhausting. We look for what hasn't been looked at yet — through both a TCM lens and comprehensive functional labs — and we give you a plan instead of another wait-and-see.

Your cycle needs attention.

Irregular cycles, painful periods, short luteal phases, spotting, absent ovulation, PCOS, endometriosis, or a cycle you've simply never been taught how to read. In Chinese medicine, the menstrual cycle is a monthly report card on Qi, Blood, Yin, and Yang. We treat what it's telling us.

You're working with a fertility specialist.

IUI, IVF, medicated cycles, frozen transfers, donor eggs. We work alongside your reproductive endocrinologist, timing treatment around your protocol rather than competing with it. Your RE manages the medicine; we support the terrain it's working in.

It would be easy to make a positive test the whole goal. We don't, because a positive test is the beginning of something that asks a great deal of your body.

Our goal is a healthy mother — because a healthy mother is what makes a healthy pregnancy, a healthy baby, and a recovery that doesn't leave you depleted for years afterward. That means we care about egg quality, not just ovulation. About your iron, thyroid, blood sugar, and inflammatory status going into pregnancy, not just after a problem appears. About whether you'll have reserves left for the fourth trimester.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this is the work of protecting and building Jing — the deep constitutional essence you inherit and pass on. Jing is the reason preconception care exists. Modern research uses different language — nutrient status, mitochondrial function, oocyte quality, epigenetic expression — but it's describing the same principle: the conditions you create before conception shape what gets expressed after it.

We're not simply trying to get you pregnant. We're trying to get you well, so that pregnancy has the best possible ground to grow in.

Pregnancy isn't the finish line

“Pregnancy alone isn't the goal. A quality pregnancy — and a thriving mother — is.”

Two lenses on the same body

Chinese medicine is exceptional at recognizing patterns — the constellation of signs that explains why your body is doing what it's doing. Functional lab testing is exceptional at measuring what's happening beneath the surface. Used together, very little slips through.

TCM

Acupuncture

Gentle, precisely placed treatment to support blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, regulate the cycle, calm the nervous system, and — during ART cycles — time care to the exact phase of your protocol.

TCM

Herbal & supplement support

Professional-grade Chinese herbal formulas and targeted nutraceuticals, matched to your pattern and your labs. We use practitioner-grade products and adjust as your labs change. Herbal formulas are always coordinated with your fertility medications

FUNCTIONAL

Comprehensive functional labs

True healing begins with truly knowing your body. We look well past a standard panel, and we interpret what we find against functional reference ranges rather than the wide ranges built to flag disease. That distinction matters: a result can sit comfortably inside "normal" and still be nowhere near where you'd want it for conception and pregnancy. It's why so many patients arrive having been told everything looked fine, and leave with a clear picture of what to work on.

If you've already had testing done through your OB-GYN or reproductive endocrinologist, bring it. We'll work with what you have and only add where there's a genuine gap.

FUNCTIONAL

TCM nutritional guidance

Constitutionally specific food recommendations — warm, cooked, mineral-dense, and built around protecting Spleen Qi and building Blood. Practical, not punishing.

Pivot Acupuncture

A Roadmap for Every Stage

Six phases, each with its own rhythm. The cadence meter shows how often we typically see you.

1
Preconception

Preparing to Conceive

2–3× Weekly

The deepest work happens here. An egg matures for roughly 90 days before release — so we regulate the cycle, improve blood flow, and correct what your labs reveal, well before the calendar starts counting.

GOAL Optimize health and egg quality
2
Transfer Window

Pre & Post Transfer

Pre: 1–2 Days Prior · Post: Within 24 Hrs

Timing matters more than volume. Two quiet, low-stimulation sessions bracketing your transfer or IUI.

GOAL Support implantation
3
First Trimester

Confirmed to 12 Weeks

2× Weekly

Chinese medicine focuses on securing and holding through the most delicate window — while we treat the things nobody warns you about: nausea, bone-deep fatigue, headaches, and the anxiety between appointments.

GOAL Early support and stability
4
Second & Third Trimester

12 to 36 Weeks

Every 2–3 Weeks

Things steady out, so treatment spaces out. We manage low back and pelvic pain, sciatica, reflux, swelling, and sleep — and keep the pelvis mobile, including moxibustion for breech positioning between 32 and 36 weeks.

GOAL Comfort and symptom management
5
Labor Preparation

36 Weeks to Delivery

2–3× Weekly

Frequency rises again. Treatment supports cervical ripening, helps the body soften and open, and encourages optimal fetal positioning.

GOAL Prepare for labor and delivery
6
Recovery

Postpartum & The Fourth Trimester

Virtual Consult & Follow-Ups · In-Clinic as You're Ready

We start virtually — because leaving the house with a newborn is a project — focusing on rebuilding Qi and Blood, warm nourishment, milk supply, mood, and healing.

GOAL Recovery and nourishment

A seat at the table

Conception takes two people, and so does preparing for it. We welcome male partners into this process — with their own labs, their own plan, and their own seat at the table.

His health is half of this equation, and it's the half most often left out of the conversation.

Sperm take about 72 to 90 days to develop, which means the same three-month window that shapes egg quality also shapes sperm quality. Heat, alcohol, sleep debt, blood sugar, inflammation, and environmental exposures all show up in that window, and the good news is that they're all responsive to change. In Chinese medicine, this is Kidney Jing on his side too — the same essence, contributed equally.

Partners who make the changes alongside you tend to do better than partners who are asked to make them alone. And beyond the biology, having someone in it with you — cleaning up the pantry together, going to bed at the same reasonable hour — changes what this whole process feels like.

We're glad to see male partners in clinic, run appropriate labs, and build a parallel plan.

The foundations we build on

Alongside acupuncture, herbs, and lab work, there are daily choices that shape your fertility more than most people realize — how you eat, what you drink, how you move, how you sleep, and how much of a toxic burden your body is carrying while it tries to do this work.

We've written these out in detail: the six foundations we ask every fertility patient to build on, why each one matters through a Chinese medicine lens, and exactly where to start.

Alongside Your Care Team

If you're seeing a reproductive endocrinologist, nothing we do replaces or contradicts that care. We coordinate around your protocol — scheduling treatment to your stimulation, retrieval, and transfer dates, screening herbal recommendations against your medications, and adjusting when your plan changes at the last minute, because it often does.

Bring us your labs, your protocol, and your calendar. We'll build our plan to fit inside it.

A partner in every step

Your fertility journey is uniquely yours — and the right support can make all the difference. We'd love to hear where you are in it, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping for. Reach out to schedule a 15-minute consultation and see if we're the right fit for you.
